History
After graduating high school in 1977, Vince Graye found his passion in slate and tile while working for a St. Louis roofing company. Nearly 10 years later, he opened his own slate and tile roofing business with a focus on preserving the architectural beauty of the city’s historic homes and buildings. With a small team of skilled craftsman, Vince Graye Slate and Tile Roofing has since repaired and restored hundreds of St. Louis area residences from Lafayette Square to St. Charles and restored pristine century-old churches and popular tourist attractions. In 2016, Vince transferred ownership of the business to Mike Walter, a slate and tile roofing veteran who brings a wealth of knowledge about the industry. Vince continues to offer his expertise as Vice President of the company.

Meet Our Team
Vince Graye, Vice President
Vince has been in the slate and tile roofing industry for over 40 years. He founded Vince Graye roofing in 1986. In 2016, after 30 years as the head of Vince Graye Slate and Tile Roofing, Vince began transitioning into retirement. Vince brought on Mike Walter as Vice President to oversee the company through his retirement and beyond. In 2018 Vince stepped down as president to take the position of vice president in the company and Mike Walter took over as the president. Vince continues to consult the team on a as needed basis.
Mike Walter, President
Mike has extensive knowledge of the slate and tile roofing industry. Mike started his slate and tile career in Germany after his service in the US Army. After learning the trade from true European craftsman for over five years, Mike moved his family to the St. Louis area in 2006 to apply his skills on the beautiful historic homes of St. Louis. Mike worked with another slate and tile company for over 10 years holding the positions of technician, foreman, and managed the branch for over seven years. Vince brought Mike on at Vince Graye Slate and Tile Roofing to continue his legacy of professionalism, craftsmanship and dedication to top quality work as he begins to retire. Mike oversees each project with passion and pride, working side by side with his dedicated team of professionals from start to finish.
